About the Artist

pavey with book 2

Rosemary Pavey was born and spent her childhood in Brighton. After reading  for 2 degrees in English at St. Hugh's college, Oxford, she worked briefly in Cumbria before returning to Sussex and beginning a career as a freelance painter. Though she is best known for her prints and cards of local landscapes, she works with a wide range of subjects and styles. Many relate to the natural world, reflecting her role as wildlife officer at Stoneywish Nature Reserve, where she looks after the waterbirds, but she is equally happy to be painting figures, interiors and still life.

Rosemary began writing fiction for pleasure when she was a child and in recent years she has returned to her writer's desk, producing two novels and numerous short stories and articles, which are available on Kindle or as paperbacks .

If not at the studio at Dumbrell's she is probably out chasing her husband's geese on the Reserve, or busy scribbling the next volume!
